APPEARANCE
- Separation of the disc head from the brake surface
REASONS
- Mechanical stress due to misalignment. Incorrect mounting or positioning of calipers and discs will cause future braking surface asymmetrical wear and eventual separation.
EFFECTS
- Sound and vibration generation during braking due to purely mechanical failure after separation
SOLUTION
- Totally check the brake system and related parts. Replace faulty components and install new discs following the manufacturer's recommended tightening torque and sequence during tightening. Before installing the discs, check the caliper body alignment and mounting on the axle.
