APPEARANCE
- Excessively worn with disc surface grooves (tracks)
REASONS
- Excessive or complete wear of the brake pad causes damage to the (metal) disc surface by the brake backing plate contacting the disc
EFFECTS
- Extremely low braking efficiency, increased stopping distance and friction noise.
SOLUTION
- Replace discs and pads. If possible, verify proper pad wear warning indicator circuitry
